Team

The only person you have to outdo today…

…is the person you were yesterday.

We are passionate about what we do. We treat clients and team members like family, and we care deeply about the long-term prosperity and legacies of our “extended” family.

H. Penny Knuff, CFA

Managing Partner

Penny has devoted her entire 30+ year career to wealth management — a passion nurtured by her late grandfather who helped transition the family out of the brewery business during the onset of Prohibition into New York City real estate, and eventually into securities investments in the 1940s.

Penny began her career in 1989 at the Boston Safe Deposit & Trust Company. In 1994, she earned her CFA designation and joined Fiduciary Trust Company International in New York as a Vice President/Portfolio Manager.

In 2001, after Fiduciary Trust was acquired by Franklin Templeton Investments, Penny relocated to San Mateo, California to establish and lead Fiduciary Trust’s new office in northern California at Franklin Templeton’s headquarters. In 2009, she was promoted to Managing Director and Senior Portfolio Manager, a position Penny held until she resigned in June of 2018.

After devoting almost a quarter century to managing wealth at Fiduciary Trust, Penny decided to establish her own wealth management business — a dynamic, client-centric multi-generational family office. The result is Knuff & Company.
